“…I’m about to lose control and I think I like it.”
For you Pointer Sisters fans, I am sure I have stuck that song in your head for the rest of the day. But look at it this way, there are worse songs I could have stuck there, such as...…no I’ll quit while I’m ahead.
And what am I so excited about?
WEB MD has just posted an article that says diet, may have some effects on ADD/HD.[i] The article states, “scientific research on ADHD diets is limited and results are mixed.” As if scientific research on exactly what medications do and what the long term side effects are, is so great. Also they tout that certain foods may, “possibly increase the time ADHD medications work.”
Whatever happened to you are what you eat? Sometimes we have become so smart we are stupid. Of course diet can stabilize or exacerbate how anyone handles the day they are having and how well they function within that day. The problem is that diet is only the first step to a much longer journey of helping your ADD/HD child or adult maximize their gifts, their genius and their potential. So when someone begins and ends with diet, oftentimes giving up on it when their results are not immediate or profound, of course they start to believe that medications are the only solution.
The longest journey, it is said, begins with one step, however, there must be many more steps before one can complete the journey.
Does diet make a difference?
You bet your chemically laden, over processed, high fructose corn syrup, dye infested, substance addicting additives it does.
