You may or may not be familiar with Kryptonite, the fictional mineral that was Superman's ultimate weakness. Well, we all have our own form of it. Your Kryptonite can't hurt you if you know what it is. If you can prepare for it, have necessary support systems in place, and structure your life accordingly, you can avoid exposure.
Let's say you have an issue with time management—that there are certain people who throw off your ability to effectively manage your time. Firstly, identify your Kryptonite. Pull out the hard stops to make necessary change happen. Schedule time for people to call you or interrupt your workday, instead of allowing them to barge in with texts, phone calls, or emails throughout the day. If you find yourself getting caught up in social media posts when you should be focusing on work, don't set yourself up for failure by saying you'll abstain from it altogether. Instead, schedule in ten minutes every three hours to check in, or whatever is reasonable and manageable for you. Take a few minutes each morning to set an alarm on your phone, periodically reminding you to get back to the tasks at hand.
Once you know your Kryptonite are certain people, or a certain habit, you have to look for a resolution. There is a Kryptonite out there for every Superhero. You have to know what yours is, and plan accordingly so it doesn't get in the way of your Superhero Journey.
